
Rescue Diver
Course prerequisites:

Certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, or equivalent.

EFR Primary and Secondary Care training (or qualifying training) within 24 months.
Minimum age: 12
During the Advanced Open Water Diver course, you will learn:

Recognize and respond to emergency situations

Provide first aid and life-saving support

Self-rescue skills

Specialized equipment

Scene management
The Rescue Diver course is designed to prepare you to respond to both minor and major dive emergencies. You will also learn to recognize diver stress and potential equipment problems before they become a dive emergency. Throughout this course, you will learn to help others, as well as yourself, making you a better dive buddy and more confident diver.
The PADI Rescue Diver course is divided into two phases -
Knowledge Development and Open Water Dives.


Knowledge Development
Classroom instruction or Online eLearning you can do at your own pace.
You'll learn diver rescue and self-rescue techniques, recognize diver stress, scene management, and diver first aid.
Open Water Dives
You will practice rescue techniques and handling scenarios by role-playing with other students
In an open water environment, you will demonstrate self-rescue skills, skills from Rescue Exercises 1-10, participate in Rescue Scenarios 1 and 2, and prepare an emergency assistance plan for a dive site.
